DMR Staff

The BROADWAY ADVENTURE program offers a fast-paced but FUN education in musical theatre: singing, dancing, and acting, while working towards a culminating production. DMR Adventures is not like anything else you’ll find in Charlottesville or neighboring cities — we specialize in pre-professional training in musical theatre, and our staff is made up of a combination of professionally trained actors, singers, and dancers, young adults chosen for our youth leadership program, and other wonderful volunteers. Your child will receive an understanding of and training in acting, singing, and dance technique, they will learn theatrical terminology and etiquette, and they will build confidence and explore their creative side in a safe, encouraging and challenging environment. We encourage all levels to join this adventure — one of our core beliefs is that we never stop learning — and our best experiences come from being a part of productions with both new faces and experienced students.

Everyone in 4th-12th grades who are regiserered be cast in the production. There is no audition or invitation required to register, but there will be a casting process which will happen after we begin rehearsals and after our required parent meeting. A complete rehearsal and performance schedule can be found at the following link:

We will produce Mary Poppins JR and we will plan to have as many as 8 performances, depending on casting, performance location, and the COVID-19 protocols for April, 2022. It is imperative that we know your conflicts prior to auditions, and you should not register unless you are able to attend all planned performances and mandatory rehearsals.

Please do not register unless you have looked over this carefully.
