This unique behind-the-scenes experience takes place in New York City in and around Broadway theatres and rehearsal studios.
This package includes your ticket to a hit Broadway show, post-show meetings with cast members, and (6) interactive workshops with Broadway cast and creative team members from the shows we are seeing. All workshops are held in professional Broadway rehearsal facilities, and every student works directly with Broadway’s best and brightest performers, choreographers, music directors, directors, designers, stage managers and teaching artists.
The Broadway Student Summit is designed for high school and middle school students who have a sincere interest in theatre and wish to improve their performance or tech/design skills.
Also included in this package is a T-Shirt for students to wear on our first day and as a memento of the trip.
There is an optional Feedback Session, taking place on Friday, March 28, time TBA. There is an accompanist provided and you may bring sheet music or perform a monologue for feedback from some of the Summit Staff/Broadway Professionals. This does include a 45 minute prep session with Melissa to prepare, and we encourage private coaching with a voice teacher or accompanist or training within our pre-professional program in order to be ready for this session.
While there is no travel, food, or transportation included, DMR will help plan and organize several optional outings, including group meals, tickets to see shows on Friday and Saturday evenings, and at least one other outing, depending on the interests of the group. We will also offer suggestions on travel and hotel/housing.
Once a registration deposit has been made, there is no refund allowed, but you may transfer the registration to another student (processing fees will apply for both students).
