LARISA ALEKSANDROV

Music Director

Larisa is delighted to bring her education and music experience to DMR Adventures. She music directed Miss Nelson is Missing and has been an accompanist for DMR's choral and pre-professional programs. She fell in love with musical theater at age 9 and has most enjoyed contributing to theater productions as a pianist. Larisa attended the York County School of the Arts and performed at both the Virginia Theater Association and the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. At the University of Virginia (’13) Larisa majored in Foreign Affairs and Russian Language & Literature, while continuing her piano studies and working in the UVA Music Department. After graduation, she spent three years leading volunteer community development programs overseas. She has also taught English as a Second Language, Russian Language, and Reading Development to classes ranging in age from Kindergarten to adult. Since resettling in Charlottesville in 2016, Larisa has accompanied for the Children’s Choir of Central Virginia, Live Arts Community Theater, Four County Players, Phoenix Theatre Works, and more. By day, she is a Program Officer at the Presidential Precinct.
