NANCY PAULSON

Guest Artist

Nancy has been on the staff at DMR for the past four years, serving as Program Director for the Jr. Stars Troupe, vocal director for summer camps, and director for select DMR choir ensembles including the youth chorus for UVA’s production of Bernstein’s MASS. She is the Choir Director at The Village School: Middle School for Girls in Charlottesville where she has taught for over ten years and also teaches private voice lessons from her home studio.

Nancy is a frequent soloist at Westminster Presbyterian and has sung with multiple choral ensembles including The Kennedy Center’s Washington Chorale (formerly named The Paul Hill Chorale), Oratorio Society of Virginia, The Blacksburg Master Chorale, and the Kansas State Concert Choir. She studied voice with Dr. Jennifer Edwards (professor emeritus, KSU) and plays both piano and violin.

Passionate about education and working with young people, Nancy began her career working at the Congressional Youth Leadership Council in DC, and then as a student affairs professional at Indiana University, Virginia Tech and UVA. She feels fortunate to be able to spend this part of her career joining together her music and education backgrounds to help others discover the joy of singing and performing. Nancy holds a B.A. in Journalism and a M.S. in Education.
