FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Will transportation be provided?
For an additional fee, students enrolled in YAS! can be transported from their school via the DMR Bus.

We plan to provide transportation from the following schools: Burnley Moran, Johnson, Venable, Jackson-Via, Agnur Hurt, and Mountain View, and there will be a small charge for transportation.
What will YAS! students be doing?
Theater beginners and experienced young thespians will have the chance to reach their highest peak with daily artistic creation. All of the theatrical arts will be covered: acting, dancing, singing, and technical theater (costumes, lights, sound). We will also introduce students to specialty performing arts such as improv, stand-up comedy, mime, etc.

Sample Schedule
2:30-3:15 Drop-off/Snack time
*At this time all YAS staff will be on the bus, any in-person drop offs should happen at 3PM.
3:15-4:00 Storytelling/Creative Drama
4:00-4:30 Study time & 2nd snack (homework, reading, writing, drawing)
430-5:20 Hip Hop (3rd-5th) or similar class
K-2nd will have creative play with the YAS team
5:20-5:30 Wrap up and ready for pick up!

What is the cost of YAS!
A sliding scale is available for all families as well as the option to apply for a scholarship. Pricing depends on the number of weeks per session. There is an additional fee for transportation.
What are the hours of operation for YAS!
YAS! is open from 2:30 to 5:30 PM, Monday through Friday.
*At this time all YAS staff will be on the bus, any in-person drop offs should happen at 3PM. If you need to drop your child prior to 3PM, please let our staff know at least one day in advance.
Will YAS! be offered on school half-days or early dismissals?
No. YAS! will operate when Charlottesville City schools are in session for the full day. If school is dismissed early due to inclement weather, YAS! will be closed.

DMR typically operates Drama Day Camps on school days off - those are offered at 50% discount to YAS! Students.
Will snacks be provided?
No. Students must bring their own snacks and water bottle each day.
What discounts are offered?
Families with multiple registered siblings OR Registering for 4 or more months at once
