About the event

The Sound of Music, the final masterpiece of Rodgers & Hammerstein, has captured the hearts of people around the globe, becoming an enduring symbol of hope and joy. This musical treasure boasts a collection of iconic songs, including “Climb Ev’ry Mountain,” “My Favorite Things,” “Do-Re-Mi,” “Sixteen Going on Seventeen,” and the stirring title song, which have all contributed to its five Tony Awards and five Oscars. Based on the true story of Maria Augusta Trapp, the narrative follows a spirited novice nun turned governess named Maria, who brings laughter and music back to the home of the stern Captain von Trapp and his seven children. As they face the mounting pressures of Nazi annexation, the von Trapp family's strength and unity are put to the test. Join us for an unforgettable journey through the lush hills of Austria, where the music of hope and freedom rings out in defiance of the tumultuous backdrop of World War II.
