Camp Overview
Technical Theatre Camp – Week 3 is a four-day, design-focused technical theatre experience that introduces students to the planning and creative process behind a production.
Rather than concentrating on performance execution, this week emphasizes design, preparation, and collaboration, giving students insight into how technical elements are developed before they are fully implemented.
During this week, students will support and collaborate on:
-Week One of the Shakespeare Production Acting Camp
Assisting with design concepts for sets, costumes, lighting, and props
Participating in planning and creative discussions
Note: This week focuses on design and preparation, not performance implementation
Broadway Stars Camp
-Assisting with lighting design, and any possible props, sets or costumes
-Serving on run crew for two Broadway Stars performances
-Supporting backstage organization and technical needs
Focus Areas
Students will gain hands-on experience with:
-Scenic, lighting, and costume design concepts
-Script and production analysis from a technical perspective
-Collaboration with directors and production staff
-Backstage organization and run crew responsibilities
-Understanding how design moves from concept to execution
This camp is ideal for students who:
-Are curious about how shows are designed, not just run
-Want to explore technical theatre without the intensity of a performance week
-Are considering future work in lighting, scenic design, stage management, or production
This camp focuses on design and preparation, not full technical implementation.
-Performance tickets are not included in tuition.
-All families are required to join the camp’s private BAND group for communication.
